Leading researchers presented latest findings on artemisinin extraction, antimalarial efficacy, and innovative cultivation techniques. Interdisciplinary discussions bridged human health, agriculture, and environmental applications.
Participants forged partnerships across 29 countries. The symposium sparked multiple joint research proposals and established long-term collaborations between Northern and Southern research institutions.
Local research centre showcased working Artemisia farms and ongoing trials. Delegates experienced firsthand how research translates into farmer income and community health benefits.
Artemisia Connect committed to biennial symposiums. The 2nd edition will take place in Tenerife, Spain in September 2027, building on the momentum of Arusha 2025.
Venue
The ACER Centre at Aga Khan University in Tanzania is an ideal hub for researchers. The center boasts a rich environment with volcanic soils, making it an excellent location for agricultural trials and botanical research.
Researchers found themselves in an inspiring environment where collaborative opportunities abound, both with local experts and the global research community working on One Health solutions.
